Scholarship Info for Students



Paying for College Guide (available in English and Spanish)

This publication is geared towards helping seniors create a paying for college plan. Covered in this booklet are common questions about financial aid and the FAFSA. The Paying for College Guide also includes tips and resources, including financial aid deadlines for colleges in Utah and scholarship information. While geared towards seniors, this publication can also be used for younger grades to help them start thinking early about paying and preparing for college.






UHEAA’s 8th-11th Grade Plan Ahead for College Costs Scholarship Due May 15 Students can begin planning for their future college expenses before senior year with a scholarship contest from the Utah Higher Education Assistance Authority! Applications are open now and are due at 11:59 pm on May 15, 2020. Students can create their free account on CompleteScholarships.org to apply.

Book-Your-Summer Scholarship Book-Your-Summer scholarship is starting May 15th, and Utah readers 18 and under can win one of four $1,000 my529 scholarships https://bookyoursummer.com/

CollegeBoard Opportunity Scholarships for Juniors

The College Board has launched a new scholarship program with $5 million of scholarships each year. Go to the CollegeBoard Website for more details.

Regents Scholarship and New Century Scholarship info for Seniors 2020

· Students who are current applicants must complete all requirements, including completion of courses for the scholarship.

· Students can earn a pass or “P” grade and still meet the cumulative GPA and credit requirements for both Regents’ and New Century Scholarship programs.

· Students will receive a status notification in their online account starting mid-April extending through May. Regents’ Scholarship: regentsscholarship@ushe.edu or 801-321-7159 New Century Scholarship: newcentury@ushe.edu or 801-321-7221

Senior Scholarships Available at Utah State University for Fall 2020 semester. Deadline for application: June 5, 2020

The Conway B. and Elaine W. Sonne Scholarship Two $1,300 scholarships will be awarded to be paid in one lump sum for Fall 2020 semester. This scholarship is for students who are graduating high school seniors and are U.S. citizens. Applicants need to have demonstrated leadership in their high schools and in their communities and show special talent and potential for continued leadership.

The African American Leadership Award Scholarship One $800 scholarship will be awarded to be paid in one lump sum for Fall 2020 semester. This scholarship is for African American students who are graduating high school seniors, with preference given to students who are from the state of Utah. Applicants need to have demonstrated leadership in their high schools and in their communities and show special talent and potential for continued leadership.
